The below is taken from a B-Lo News article explaining how the Buffalo Board of Education has once again managed to preserve the majority pro-Superintendent Williams voting block. Former Williams critic and antagonist Ralph Hernandez after some maneuvering has come out Board President. His one time allies and minority voting block members seem baffled, disappointed and I guess even a little bitter after witnessing this about -face. Politics is politics and I guess the behind the scenes deals and trade offs will always play a bigger role than a lot of us neophytes can comprehend. What's even more ironic though is from what we've seen Mr. Hernandez's gordian knot of illogic quoted below will barely raise an eyebrow in Buffalo. This kind of goobledegook and self-contradictory circumlocution is the coin of the realm. And maybe that's just how it is. But C'mon Ralph, listen to yourself....
I think he’s an opportunist and did what he had to do to be president,” Panepinto said. “I think Ralph philosophically agrees with the people who voted for Lou.” Hernandez brushed off the opportunist charge. “She can call me anything she wants,” he said. “I felt I had earned the right to be president. I was campaigning to be president. Where do you go? You go where the votes are. That’s common sense. It has nothing to do with being an opportunist.”

The few people who actually vote in school board elections in his district feel that way too.
I know I do. I am done thinking these people will ever do anything differently. Getting your hopes up in this district just seems to make you fall that much further to the ground !
