Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis and publishing mogul Larry Flynt have penned a letter to Congress requesting a $5 billion bailout for...wait for it...the pornography industry.
"The government is handing out money," Francis tells E! News. "They're moving toward a nationalized economy, and Larry and I felt we might as well be a part of it."
Actually, I thought Joe Francis was still cranking out license plates somewhere but he seems to have been sprung. If you're thinking Larry Flynt's tongue isn't firmly planted in his cheek though you are missing a good laugh. If anyone has had a nose for the hypocrisy and sexual quirks of the far and religious right it's the guy in the wheelchair reading Hustler. Not that anyone's confusing Flynt with any kind of national hero but how much worse is he than the likes of Bernanke and Paulson ? -- especially when you learn that 10% of the bailout money they secured for their Wall St. buddies was used to pay bonuses to ne'erdowell executives who ruined their companies and cost people their retirement funds and their jobs ?

The thing you have to admire about Flynt is that he never pretended to be anything but what he is. Who better to hold hypocritical politicians up to the light? I loved when he put up a bunch of money for anyone who could name names in republican sexual wrongs. It's just too bad no one got the money but he helped keep the spotlight on what was really happening.
Can't blame a guy for trying when there's free money to grab. One thing about Larry Flint, he took down a few republicans including Newt Gingrich way back when they had their contract on America going on.
Now where is my pen and paper to request a bailout for my lil jewelry business? LOL
