Never Fear Condi's Hitting the Digits

Anyone concerned about the developments in the Gaza can rest comfortably. I have it on good information that Condi Rice is making some phone calls. Fucking phone calls ? When an F-16's are taking out entire blocks and killing more than Hamas wingnuts maybe the Sec of State might want to get her ass on an airplane. But then again she' s never done anything once she gets there anyway, so why should this bloodbath be any different. Bush is vacationing again and has nothing to say on the subject. Shocked ? His flunkies have predictably blamed Hamas and are advising them to act nice. Dana Perrino's black eye is almost better too. What a relief, she could have been nailed by an Iraqi shoe.

Why should we do anything more than make phone calls? Hamas is getting what it deserves: they've been firing rockets at Israel for the past three years at least, since Israel pulled out of Gaza. They've become stooges of the Iranians, and the Saudis want them out of the way. The Egyptians aren't happy about these clowns, either. Hamas burned a lot of bridges among the Arabs. Now, they're going to get it in the neck.

Now, the IDF is going to go in an annihilate Hamas. Rice is doing the proper tut-tutting that a SecState does when what we are really doing is coaching the Israelis from the sidelines and providing them with signals intelligence.

Jesus, what part of this don't you understand? You realize that Obama and his people are in on this up to their necks, don't you? That they've been fully briefed by IDF and CIA briefers, and that Obama signed off on Operation CAST LEAD because Barack wanted Hamas out of the way too...

...because Mashal and his goons are professional pains in the asses who wouldn't take an offer they couldn't refuse, even from the Messiah.

That's right, you spent too much time listening to all that ass-dreck on the Amy Goodman show. You shouldn't do that. Obama took your money, took your vote, and now he's laughing at you.

What are you going to do? Vote for Palin?

OMG - how do these really smart people find this blog anyway ? Amy Goodman ? No idea who that is. Obama took the vote i gave him but no money and I am pretty sure he's not laughing at anyone just yet but if he could read this I bet he'd be whooping it up. Love the cartoon avatar I am sure there's a really cool and enlightened story behind it too. feel free to skip to the next blog on the list...

How about this for a different point of view- the Israelies are doing to the Palestinians just what the Brits did to the Irish for generations. The Palestinians have lived under lock down mode for years and have been allowed to work, move around their own land, go to school etc. only when allowed by their occupiers. The fact that they lash out against this way of living should surprise no one, but for some reason, those who see things only one way continue to be shocked. My feeling is that Israel is lashing out now because, like aig and others, they can see the end of the party coming on Jan. 20th. Let's hope someone finally holds Israel's feet to the fire and makes them responsible for the chaos and destruction they've brought to the region. It's also time to get serious about a Palestinian homeland and do more than talk about what a good idea it would be.

Yeah the Miami Condo and Shuffleboard society weighing in above is typical of the myopic Dumberican take on this whole international matter. All it ever takes is to ask why these people blow themselves up ? Also why do they support Hamas ? Hamas builds them schools and hospitals, why wouldn't they support someone who eases their suffering.

I imagine the airstrikes will make Hamas disappear the same way the Hamas rockets are making Israel disappear. Any internal dissatisfaction with Hamas has been replaced by a sense of national unity against a common aggressor, Israel. Killing innocents has a way of doing that.

I don't see how what Israel is doing will accomplish anything other than creating more anger and resentment. We've seen how well conventional military action works in the Middle East. Why should this be any different? And if "annihilating" Palestinian radicals was as easy as bombing them, why hasn't it work before?

Paul - I heard on the radio today that Israel is going to keep at this until "the bitter end." Didn't they say about the same thing when they tried to roll into Lebanon and bitchslap Hamas who ended up making them look like Kimbo Slice. These overkills only make the world hate us more too because we're the dopes who keep hanging with Israel while they blow up kids and old ladies. Then we tell the survivors, you need to be more diplomatic. Yeah and now even moderate to anti-Hamas Palestinians are on board, way to go guys.

K- -- I like the IRA analogy. What brutality from the Brits accomplished anything but to galvanize even the most moderate of Irish into provo supporters. In fact I've read where the IRA counted on the Brits' overreactions for that very reason. They accomplished what the provos could only dream of sometimes in one single attack on a village. Seems someone in Israel might want to read a little history and save them the repeat mistakes they insist on making.
