Chicago Boss Richie Daley put this guy in charge of the horror show called Chicago Public Schools where Duncan turned a bad system into a REALLY bad system. And Obama knows it. Indeed, although he plays roundball with Duncan (who was captain of the Harvard basketball team), State Senator Obama was one of the only local Chicago officials who refused to send his kids to Duncan's public schools. (The Obamas sent Sasha and Malia to the Laboratory School, where Duncan's methods are derided as dangerously ludicrous.) So, if The One won't trust his kids to Duncan, why is he handing Duncan ours? The answer: Duncan is supported by a coterie of teacher-union hating Republicans. The vocal cheerleader for the Duncan appointment was David Brooks, the New York Times columnist; the REPUBLICAN columnist.
Excuse me but I think i just threw up in my grade boook a little...

Read the article K but still not there. I have been working for the past several years under a very bush-like regime led by an inarticulate racist bully who has privatized our city's alternative school and paid 7 million in contracts to a company owned by people in the city he came from. In June there was a passing rate of 0% among 8th graders on the math final. Science students were fed the wrong curriculum by the software this company employed and results were single digit passing rates. Yet their contract was renewed and juts last month with other lawsuits about to start raining down the guy admits he fucked up. The company was paid to teach 300 kids yet barely even averaged 100 on a good day. These are our most at risk students, the ones who will be blowing each others and innocent bystander's heads off at bus stops over nothing. Yet there was no intervention to address the behaviors and attitudes and real life trauma that caused these kids to fail in a general ed setting. Arne sounds to me like more of this same bad blood. As for his ability to or willingness to work with all of these disparate entities aren't people who do that also called 2 faced ? Not buying it.
According to Helen, there was an article in the paper over the weekend saying the resultech contract had been cancelled. Along with the cancellation went the computers and all other supplies and materials they brought in. That leaves the school with no books, no curriculum and the admission that the program was a total disaster. That also leaves no more $$$ flowing to williams from his buddies, so how long will he stay in town? Flo jo and Mary Ruth must be losing sleep now.
So do those kids all get home instruction for the rest of the year ? That's my guess or else they'll send them to the centers they've set up so they can monitor home instructors while Nate McSkate runs around in a suit calling himself Principal down there. Unbeebale.
